Rum Cake

1 box yellow cake mix - follow directions
1 small box vanilla instant pudding mix
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 cup dark rum

-Spread nuts inside bundt pan
-Mix cake mix according to directions
-Add pudding & rum

-Pour over nuts in pan
-Bake as directed on cake mix box

-Cool & remove from pan

 

Glaze for Rum Cake

  1 cup butter - melted
1 cup sugar
1 cup rum

                            -Mix all ingredients together & baste over cake
                            -Use all of sauce
 
Less strong glaze:
-melt 1 cup butter in saucepan
-Stir in 1/8 cup water & 1/2 cup sugar
-Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly
-Remove from glaze & stir in 1/4 cup rum
-Drizzle & smooth evenly over the top & sides
